Advice to a Lover The sea hath many thousand sands,
The sun hath motes as many;
The sky is full of stars, and Love
As full of woes as any:
Believe me, that do know the elf,
And make no trial by thyself!
It is in truth a pretty toy
For babes to play withal:
But O, the honies of our youth
Are oft our age's gall:
Self-proof in time will make thee know
He was a prophet told thee so:
A prophet that, Cassandra-like,
Tells truth without belief;
For headstrong Youth will run his race,
Although his goal be grief: -
Love's Martyr, when his heat
is past,
Proves Care's Confessor at the last.
I Love Him
Listening to his voice
Time stops, but only for a moment.
Time is precious.
These moments are precious.
He is so precious to me.
Does he know?
He wants my heart to be his home
...another broken home
He wants a home in my broken heart
I am not heartless
So he will never be homeless. Anonymous
Learning to Love
I learned to love you
that was easy to do
then turned away,
which crushed all of you
I re-learned to love
which put me back in motion
then you returned
with all of this past emotion
your smile, your eyes
and your sweet beautiful face
I get lost in you
where there is no time or space
I can't focus or breathe
without feeling our passion
In all of my thoughts
your image keeps passing
I search and I struggle
to find the right answers
Then remember us hiding
our kiss from all the other dancers
I look to Him
and His words from above
I hear His words
and deny out of love
I know it can't be so,
this me being with you
So, now what do we do
with this me and this you
I learned to love you
that was easy to do
I don't want to turn away,
which could crushed both me & you
