"He Stopped Wearing His Wedding Ring After 10+ Years"

My husband stopped wearing his wedding ring after 10 + years.. about a month ago.

I noticed he didn't wear his ring for about a week. When I looked at his hand, he put it in his pocket... When I asked him about it he said "it was bothering his finger". He wore his ring to work but then took if off when he came home and left it in the car. He then started wearing it again for a while, but now hasn't worn it for a week.

The the ring is nowhere in site (not in the car or on the bureau etc).

Is this "it bothers my finger" behavior valid? Or should I be concerned? He has not had significant weight loss or gain (and he has a desk job so that is not an issue).
