From ex girl friends, ex boy friends, friendships, relationships, parenting to the workplace... jealousy will weasel it's way into any situation and some how has a way of taking over any shred of common sense. Unfortunately, for many, it's a serious issue and eventually destroys their relationships.Whether it is a conscious word or a thought in the back of your mind, jealousy is something we all struggle with daily. Sometimes those little thoughts that creep into our minds don't seem like jealousy… but are they? "That witch just got that promotion that I deserved!" "OMG, that chick is way to skinny, you know she's anorexic" "It's not fair that she gets more vacation time than I do, she must be sleeping around." "My neighbor's kids are so well behaved. I wish mine were like that, so I'd look like a better parent." "Oh, my friend just got a new BMW. I wish I could have one..." What is jealousy? According to Webster, the word jealous means "resentful and envious, as of someone's success, achievements, advantages…" Unfortunately, jealousy is really tough to hide and when it's apparent, it says one thing: I'm insecure... So we're all suppose to just say positive stuff? "Man, that chick has a hot body, good for her, she must run all day and live on rabbit food". Are standards and expectations set so high that this is simply unachievable?
