Accidentally in Love.. Dating the Boss... Pros and Cons. Let's Get Right Down to It.

Dating Advice
Accidentally in Love... Ooh, the dating game... or considering dating your boss?

Well, in this day and age, you are you’re likely just like the rest... a dedicated and hard working individual, and with a ton of time spent at work. This making it close to impossible to meet anyone outside of the work place... yes? And let me guess, you probably don't just punch in and punch out, you’re that successful driven "model employee" who puts in the extra time and goes that extra mile. Well... to a career oriented man, what could be more attractive than that? Oh they love that... Then, it's all about when you fell accidentally in love...

Men love women who are assertive, self assured and driven - not to mention, while at work you are usually pushing yourself. The dating game is that much MORE stimulating when you add the taboo element of the workplace. Who wouldn’t? Think about it. It goes both ways. Women love men who are like that, too – and what simpler place to meet them than at work?

However, that doesn’t mean you have to follow through with it. We all know in the dating advice bible, dating the boss is a big no no. The easiest way to get out of dating someone at work is to simply explain, “Sorry. I don’t date people I work with.” Then hope one of you gets fired.

Without giving the dreaded "dating advice" we've all heard before, We'll start with some Food for Thought to digest before you dive in:

"Sounds Appealing":

1. O.K you know they have a job. You know how they present themselves at work, what their reputation is at work... and work accounts for a large percentage of our time, so that's a big deal.

2. You have a lot in common, have allot of fun flirting and the excitement is driving you both nuts... yes? You may even be more productive with your work because of the enjoyment of each others company and common interest.

3. Hey, you are likely on the same work schedule. One of you isn't angry if the other has to work late because you have a better understanding of what's involved.

"Oh.. The Not So Appealing":

1. Oh, the break up or fight...this could get ugly. Needless to say, this is where it gets complicated. You both would lack the space and distance needed to heal and move on. Other co-workers would likely pick up on the tension. It's tough to focus at work in a fight/break up situation, let alone when the person is there, so productivity would likely plummet.

2. And let's not forget... sexual harassment! This is a real issue that can occur more easily when boundaries get crossed. Also, people gossip and you may make enemies if one of you is higher up in the corporate or business ladder at work, and the one is lower down may be perceived "a favorite" or "a colleague with benefits".

3. If one of you wants a break from work and the other is into work, you may not have a way out -- even out of the office.

So anyway.. good luck with that!
